Why Mobile Banking

Have access to your accounts all day, every day, from anywhere!.

The State Bank of Geneva’s goal is to create a seamless way for you to pay your bills, transfer money, and access your checking account transactions, all from your mobile device.

Banking from the comfort of your home makes everything you do with your finances a bit easier. SBG allows you to deposit checks by simply taking a picture with your phone. Plus, you can access your banking information anywhere you have Internet using your computer or mobile device.

You can also pay your bills online with SBG Mobile Banking. Click here to learn more about setting up Bill Pay.

SBG Mobile Banking (SBG MB) utilizes best practices from online banking (such as HTTPS, 128-bit SSL encryption, password access, and application time-out) when your mobile device is not in use. Only the mobile devices you personally enroll in the service can access your accounts. In addition, no account data is ever stored on your mobile device. In the event your mobile device is lost or stolen, the service can be immediately disabled by either going online to the Mobile Banking enrollment website or calling us.

Mobile Banking Security Tips

  • Keep up with mobile device software updates.

  • Install security software (anti-virus, firewall) from a trusted publisher.

  • Do not store sensitive bank account information on your mobile device.

  • Do not bypass device security features or replace the system software.

  • Avoid using public Wi-Fi hotspots.

  • If your mobile device is lost or stolen, contact the bank to change your online banking credentials or close your access account.

  • Complete each Remote Deposit Capture promptly.

  • If unable to complete your deposit promptly, ensure your mobile device remains in your possession until you can complete the transaction.

  • Avoid completing transactions or viewing confidential information on your mobile device in a crowded area. Be aware of your surroundings.

  • Enter your password and login ID every time you access your SBG MB account. While time-consuming, manually entering user IDs and passwords ensures others cannot log in to your banking account.

  • Use a PIN or security code to access your mobile device.

  • Do not share your password, Access ID, or security questions.

  • Download apps with caution.

  • The bank will never ask for secure information by phone, email or text.

  • Do not use personal information to create passwords.

  • Create intricate, hard-to-guess passwords.

  • Do not leave your mobile device in public places without supervision.

  • Review your account activity for fraudulent transactions on a regular basis. Contact the bank immediately if you notice unauthorized activity.
