The State Bank of Geneva’s goal is to create a seamless and easy way for you to pay your bills, transfer money, and access a record of your checking account transactions, all from your mobile device.

Banking from the comfort of your home makes everything you do with your finances a bit easier. SBG allows you to deposit checks by simply taking a picture of the check with your phone. You can access your banking information anywhere that you have access to the Internet, on your computer or mobile device.

The SBG MB utilizes best practices from online banking, such as HTTPS, 128-bit SSL encryption, password access and application time-out when your mobile device is not in use. Only the mobile devices that you personally enroll in the service can access your accounts. In addition, no account data is ever stored on your mobile device. In the event your mobile device is lost or stolen, the service can be immediately disabled by either going online to the Mobile Banking enrollment website or calling us.

Mobile Banking Security Tips

  • Ensure your mobile device is update with the latest system software provided by your mobile carrier or device manufacturer
  • Install mobile security software (such as anti-virus and firewall) from a reputable software publisher
  • Do not store sensitive personal or Bank account information on the your mobile device
  • Do not modify the mobile device to bypass security features or replace the system software
  • Avoid using public Wi-Fi hot spots
  • If the mobile device is lost or stolen, contact the Bank to have your online banking credentials changed and/or close your access account
  • When using the remote deposit capture feature complete each deposit promptly
  • If you are unable to complete your deposit promptly, you will ensure that your mobile device remains securely in your possession until the deposit has been completed.
  • Try not to complete transactions or view confidential information on your cell phone in a crowded area where others may look over your shoulder to acquire secure Bank information.  Be aware of your surroundings.
  • Enter your password and log on ID every time you access your SBG MB account.  Manually entering user IDs and passwords may be a time-consuming endeavor but if your mobile device is ever stolen the perpetuator will not have access to you banking information.
  • Use a PIN or security code to gain access to your mobile device.
  • Do not share your password, Access ID, or security questions with anyone.
  • Download apps with caution.
  • The Bank will never ask you for secure information by phone, email or text message.
  • Do not use personal information to create passwords.
  • Create intricate passwords.
  • Do not leave your cell phone in public places without supervision
  • Review your account activity for fraudulent transactions on a regular basis. Contact the Bank immediately if any unauthorized activity is observed.
